Canagan Raw Freeze Dried Chicken Topper is a 50g bag of freeze dried chicken pieces with vegetables, made to sprinkle over dinner. It is a complementary food, not a complete one.
It is not pure chicken. Chicken is 80 percent of the recipe and sweet potato, peas and apple make up the rest, so it is grain free but it is not a single ingredient food. It analyses at 38 percent protein and 32 percent fat with only 3 percent moisture, which is rich, so a small sprinkle does the job.
A wet topper in broth is mostly water. A freeze dried topper adds the smell and the flavour without adding the water.
Canagan add glucosamine and chondroitin at 750mg per kg each. A 5g sprinkle carries under 4mg of each, so do not buy it for joints.
