Burns Sensitive is a hypoallergenic dry food for adult cats, built on duck meal which Burns state is 100 percent duck dried to a powder, with potato and buckwheat carrying the carbohydrate.
Buckwheat is the part people misread. Despite the name it is a seed rather than a cereal, so there is no wheat and no gluten in it. That matters because the two things most often behind a cat with a permanently upset stomach or a coat it will not stop overgrooming are a protein it has eaten for years and a cereal. Burns strip both out and use a protein most cats have never met.
If you are running this as a food trial, give it eight full weeks with nothing else passing the cat, no treats and no scraps, or the trial tells you nothing. Free delivery anywhere in Ireland once you spend 49 euro.
Yes. Burns is designed for dogs with sensitivities — single-source proteins, no common irritants.
Not by default. Burns is grain-inclusive (rice is the typical carb). The wet food range includes some grain-free options.

The wet food range is highly palatable — most fussy dogs do well on the Penlan Lamb or Wild Fish tins. If your dog is fussy on Burns dry, the wet pouches are a good way in.
