Whistlers Irish Beef with Vegetables and Oats is a complete dry food for adult dogs, made in Ireland with Irish beef. Beef is the only meat, 37 percent dehydrated beef, the highest meat level in the Whistlers range. Sweet potato and potato are the main carbohydrates and dehulled oats are the only grain. Whistlers built this one with active dogs in mind. It also carries seaweed meal for omega 3, whole linseed, chicory inulin as a prebiotic fibre, glucosamine and chondroitin. No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
Comes in a 2kg bag and a 12kg bag. Typical analysis, protein 24 percent, fat 13 percent, crude fibre 2.1 percent, crude ash 9.5 percent.
Whistlers daily guide, split over two meals. Dogs of 5 to 10kg, 105 to 165g. 10 to 25kg, 165 to 330g. 25 to 45kg, 330 to 510g. Over 45kg, 510g and up. Adjust to keep your dog in good shape. Move over from the old food across 5 to 7 days. Feed it dry or softened with warm water, Whistlers suggest 2 parts water to 3 parts food. Fresh water always.
Wheat free, not grain free, because oats are in it. If your dog needs fully grain free, look at Stanley's Grain Free. Beef is the only meat protein but the recipe does use chicken fat, so talk to your vet first if your dog has a confirmed chicken allergy. The glucosamine and chondroitin levels are small, 100mg and 75mg per kg of food, so do not count on this bag as a joint supplement for an older dog. Whistlers call the range naturally hypoallergenic, that is the maker's claim.
