Burns Original Chicken is a hypoallergenic dry food for adult and senior cats, built around chicken and brown rice and developed by vet John Burns. The recipe is free from wheat, beef, soya and dairy, with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
Switch over gradually across about a week, mixing a little more of the new food in with the old each day. Cats can be fussier about a change than dogs, so go slower if yours turns its nose up. Follow the feeding guide on the bag for your cat's weight and keep fresh water down at all times. If you suspect a food allergy, talk to your vet alongside any change of diet. Free delivery on all orders over 49 euro. Orders under 49 euro have a delivery charge of 6.95 euro. Delivery is available across the Republic of Ireland.
Plenty of cat foods lean on cereals and a long ingredient list. This one keeps it short, with one main protein and nothing in it that does not need to be there.
Yes. Burns is designed for dogs with sensitivities — single-source proteins, no common irritants.
Not by default. Burns is grain-inclusive (rice is the typical carb). The wet food range includes some grain-free options.

The wet food range is highly palatable — most fussy dogs do well on the Penlan Lamb or Wild Fish tins. If your dog is fussy on Burns dry, the wet pouches are a good way in.
