A long ridged chew shaped like an alligator, made from potato starch with glycerin, powdered cellulose, lecithin, dried yeast, malt extract, sweet lupin meal and alfalfa extract. The medium suits a dog of 25 to 40 pounds, roughly 11 to 18kg, and Whimzees set a minimum age of 9 months.
Read that ingredient list again and notice what is missing. There is no meat in it and no hide either, which makes this one of the very few chews you can give a dog that is on an elimination diet. The shape is doing the work rather than an additive. All those ridges and the tail force the dog to chew with the back teeth rather than swallow it, and that scraping is what shifts plaque before it hardens. Whimzees say one a day helps clean teeth, freshen breath and reduce plaque and tartar.
Size it properly. A chew too small is a swallowing risk rather than a dental one. Free delivery anywhere in Ireland once you spend 49 euro.
