Use a clean cotton pad or soft cloth moistened with the lotion, wiping gently away from the eye rather than towards it, using a fresh pad for each eye to avoid transferring anything between them. This lotion is for routine cleaning around the eye area, not for treating redness, swelling, discharge that seems unusual, or any sign the dog is in discomfort, which need a vet check rather than home cleaning.
