API Stress Coat is a tap water conditioner that instantly removes chlorine and neutralises chloramines and heavy metals, the chemicals that make tap water safe for people to drink but harmful for fish. It also contains aloe vera, which is proven to reduce fish stress and helps promote healing of damaged tissue and torn fins, replacing the natural protective slime coat that gets disrupted by handling, netting, transport or fighting between fish. It is safe for freshwater and saltwater aquariums, and safe for all fish, invertebrates and aquarium plants, though it is not recommended alongside a protein skimmer in a saltwater setup.
Use every time water is changed, a new aquarium is set up, or new fish are introduced, since tap water always needs treating before it goes anywhere near fish. It does not affect the tank's biological filter or the water's pH. Free delivery on all orders over 49 euro. Orders under 49 euro have a delivery charge of 6.95 euro. We deliver anywhere in the Republic of Ireland.
Plain tap water straight from the mains contains chemicals that are genuinely harmful to fish, and a stressed or injured fish needs more than just clean water to recover. This conditioner treats the water instantly while the aloe vera actively helps fish heal, not just survive.
