GAIN Elite Small Dogs Light is a reduced fat dry food for small breed dogs, made in Ireland, in a 6kg bag. It runs 24% protein at 7.0% oils and fats, with dried chicken and turkey at a declared minimum of 26%.
The calories come out through fat, which drops from 14.0% in the standard adult recipe to 7.0% here, and fibre rises from 2.0% to 5.0% to keep the dog fuller. The carbohydrate base does not change. Rice is declared at a minimum of 16%, with wholegrain maize and maize flour both appearing behind it. Read the ingredient panel and have a word with us in the shop before deciding this is the right route to weight loss for your dog.
