Whistlers Puppy and Junior is a complete dry food for growing dogs, made in Ireland. Chicken is the only meat, 27 percent dehydrated chicken plus chicken liver, with rice at 26 percent. It is richer than the Whistlers adult foods, protein 28 percent and fat 17 percent, and carries salmon oil, green lipped mussel at 1,000mg per kg and a prebiotic, mannan oligosaccharides. No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
Comes in a 2kg bag and a 12kg bag. Typical analysis, protein 28 percent, fat 17 percent, crude fibre 3 percent, crude ash 7 percent.
Whistlers feed by expected adult size and age, split over two meals. Small breeds of 5 to 10kg, 135g a day at 2 months rising to 150g at 6 months. Medium breeds of 10 to 25kg, 170g at 2 months and 280g at 4 months. Large breeds of 25 to 45kg, 220g at 2 months and 400g from 6 months. This is wheat free, not grain free. Along with rice it contains oats, barley and prairie meal, which is a maize protein, so it is not suitable for a dog that needs grain free or gluten free food. Chicken is the only meat. Whistlers call the range naturally hypoallergenic, that is the maker's claim. Big and giant breed puppies need their growth kept slow and steady, so weigh your pup regularly and ask your vet if you are unsure how much to feed.
