Royal Canin Shih Tzu Adult is a breed specific dry dog food for Shih Tzus over ten months old, in a 1.5kg bag. It runs 24% protein and 20% fat, built on rice and dehydrated poultry protein.
Two things set it apart from a general small breed food. The fat level is high at 20%, which is what feeds that long dense double coat, and it is backed with borage oil and 0.3% EPA and DHA for the skin underneath. The other is the kibble itself. A Shih Tzu is brachycephalic, meaning the face is broader than it is long, and the kibble is cut so a flat faced dog can actually pick it up off the bowl instead of pushing it around.

Most Royal Canin recipes include grain. Grain inclusion is intentional — Royal Canin regards rice as a beneficial carb, not a filler.
Different breeds have different jaw structures, digestive needs and joint stresses. The breed formulas tune kibble shape, protein source and supplement profile to the breed.
Yes — there are puppy formulas for mini, medium and maxi breeds, plus breed-specific puppy formulas.
The Veterinary Diet range is for diagnosed clinical conditions and is typically recommended by a vet (kidney support, urinary, hepatic, etc.). We stock the everyday Royal Canin range for healthy dogs and cats.
